CATWOMAN

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

The strongest area would be the shading of the picture and how the simple background looks against the more detailed figure. The shading on the body suit is able to show definition of the muscles and it emphasizes the fact that she's jumping down showing the movement of her arms and legs. The edges of the final piece and coloring inside the line work are what can be improved on. The line work and edges can be improved by blending them more and blurring some parts and sharpening others. The coloring inside the lines can be fixed by selecting certain areas when laying down color.  The easiest part of this activity would be choosing the concept of what to paint. I knew I wanted a detailed painting so I chose to finish a picture of  catwoman. The difficult part of the activity would be painting the background. It was difficult to balance the amount of detail put into it without it overshadowing the character. To complete this piece I used the paint brush tool, eye dropper, gradient, magnetic lasso, smudge tool, blur tool, and warp tool. The paint brush tool was used to put down the base colors and block in certain shapes. Gradient was used to help shade the back ground. The eye dropper was used to get exact colors for certain areas. The magnetic lasso was used to try and only put colors in certain spots. The smudge tool was used for shading booth the suit of character and parts of the background. The blur tool was used to soften certain areas. The warp tool was used to improve the character's stance.  The objective was demonstrated by being able to use the paint brush tool, eye dropper, and mixer brush in parts of the painting. It was also demonstrated by using those tools and more to create a detailed original painting. If I were to do this again I'd want to make it so that it comes out looking smoother and paint the colors more inside the lines.
